Baby Teething Discomfort, How to Get Relief

What happens when teething and how to get relief from discomfort

First stage of baby teething

First, you will see redness and swelling of the gums, then their loosening. The gums become painful, sometimes bleed, the baby saliva flows. There is an increase in the body temperature of the child, sometimes the baby becomes moody, irritated, there are sleep disturbances. The temperature usually rises by 1-2 degrees a day or two before the tooth appears and disappears as soon as it appears from the gums. If the fever lasts longer - this may be a sign of a disease.

Problems when the first tooth appears

When the tooth passes through the gum, it irritates and a lot of saliva is released. Saliva flows into the nasopharynx, the nasal mucosa responds by secretion. A runny nose appears in the form of mucus that flows from the nose, nasal congestion is not observed. And they can respond to bronchial irritation - and then a cough appears, intensifying when the baby is placed on his back.

It would appear that what is common between diarrhea (loose) and teething? So much saliva is concealed that, getting into the digestive tract, it makes the stool more fluid. Therefore, the child often goes to the toilet or diarrhea is observed. Normally, the brownish colour of the discharge remains without impurities. The reaction to the mother's breast or nipple can be exactly the opposite. For some children, sucking is a way to calm down, massage the gums and relieve discomfort. Therefore, they often require breasts. For others, the pain of sucking is so intense that they may refuse to eat at all.

· If the discomfort does not remit with these natural remedies and the doctor considers that some painkiller is needed, a dose of paracetamol may be given.
· If the fever and the discomfort are more, it is recommended to consult with the pediatrician because the discomfort is probably the cause of another problem.
